Ken Loach at The Albany, March 10th

Celebrated Director Ken Loach will be taking part in a Q&A ahead of a screening of his outstanding film, Looking for Eric, at The Albany in Deptford, March 10th, from 7pm.

Eric Cantona's consistently poor performances at European level, season-after-season, may have exposed his limitations as a player, but many Manchester United supporters still rate him as the greatest player in their Club's history. This makes him the perfect subject for a film about a fanatical fan, turning to a fictional version of Eric, to help him cope as his life begins to break down.

The event is being organised by a group called Urban Screen, whose main aim is to provide a platform for new film talent – especially those coming from an urban environment. They receive some funding by Film London. They have been running events at The Albany since last summer.

To accompany Looking for Eric, they will also be showing Goldsmith’s graduation film 'N25' and also a short film that was finished by the Maya Vision finishing fund, called 'Bale'.
